Why are planning, leading, controlling, organizing function are important to management

All companies whether small or big need good management. Definition>Management is the process of getting things done effectively and efficiently through other people. Explanation > Getting things done through others means the manager need to achieve work done by motivating and leading other people to do the work for him. Efficiency means doing things right and effectiveness means doing the right things. Example > For example, a bank manager has to get things done to achieve the banks objectives by getting his employees such as the bank clerks, bank tellers and security guards to work efficiently and effectively.

Definition > Planning is the management function that define /establish the goals, establishing or formulating strategies and action plans to coordinate activities to achieve the company’s goals. Explanation > For planning to be effective, a company must decide what it wants to achieve for the immediate future and come out with strategies and budgets to be implemented to ensure that it can achieve the goals or objectives that will bring the company to greater heights. Example > For example, a shoes manufacturing company will plan to increase its sales by 10% in year 2013 compared to year 2012 and will strategize to achieve this goal.
