Case Study 2: Genome4U?

The genome labs setup now is a various amount of routing protocols. In which now the process would be to start getting those together so that design can be changed. The design now is to spread apart for all the same data to travel across it from different internet connections. Since the change of routing protocols to the EIGRP with these routing protocols a lot of across traffic can be sent across that routing channel. So for me as the network designer the first step would be to change over the routing that I can over to EIGRP. This routing protocol can run on most software and can be serviced easily and quick to install.

EIGRP is an open routing protocol loosely based on their original IGRP created by Cisco. EIGRP is an advanced distance-vector routing protocol, with optimizations to minimize both the routing instability incurred after topology changes, as well as the use of bandwidth and processing power in the router. Routers that support EIGRP will automatically redistribute route information to IGRP neighbors by converting the 32 bit EIGRP metric to the 24 bit IGRP metric. Most of the routing optimizations are based on the Diffusing Update Algorithm (DUAL) work from SRI, which guarantees loop-free operation and provides a mechanism for fast convergence.

The first step would be to change over the routing protocol after that has been taken care of. The network admins would configure the EIGRP routing and make sure our internet access can run though that setup. After the internet access is confirmed to be working we can then connect the other labs and other offices to the network. Once that is complete all data can moved across the connections to all the labs and offices. The information that will be distributed on the EIGRP protocol will be all the sensitive information.
