Andres Bonifacio was born in a poor nipa hut Tondo, Manila on November 30, 1863. He was one of the founders of the Katipunan. When the Katipunan was discovered in August, 1896 Bonifacio and his men declared Philippines independence and started the revolution in the battle of Pinaglabanan, San Juan.
