Preparation for OPNET Labs

The OPNET labs in this course have preconfiguredscenario files thatare required to do your labs. These scenario files are located in the eCollege course shell and must be downloaded to your computer, unzipped, and then uploaded to the Citrix Application Server for your labs to perform correctly.

This procedure will only need to be performed one time to properly initialize your environment. The following steps must be performed in sequenceto ensure proper configuration and successful execution of future labs.

1. Download NETW360v17Scenario.zip from Doc Sharing andunzipit to your local C:\ drive. This will create a directory named NETW360v17 that contains scenarios used in your weekly lab assignments. You will now copy the NETW360v17 directory and all its files to Citrix using the following instructions.

2. Log into the Citrix environment using your Citrix credentials. If you have difficulty with your password, please call the Help Desk @ 877-784-1997. There is also Citrix-specific help information and tutorials in your Course Home->iLab tab.

3. Start Windows Explorer from the application list on Citrix. A window may appear asking about rights to your hard drive. If it appears, grant Citrix full rightsto your local computer.

a. In Explorer, ensure that the directory, F:\op_models, exists. If it does not exist, create it.

b. Copy the entire NETW360v17 directory from your computer to your Citrix F:\op_models directory.

Note: Once the NETW360v17 directory is successfully copied to Citrix, it can be deleted from your local computer, if you desire.

4. Start OPNET ITGuru from the Citrix Application list to configure your default models directory.

c. Select File>Manage Model Files>Add Model Directory.
