Introduction

Akitiara is a printing manufacturer with over 18 years of experience; their employees have been trained to be an expert in their job. Their pressmen have been trained with an eye for accuracy and provoked their understanding about the competitive market outside and to strive hard to maintain consistency in color and coverage, which eventually translate into customer satisfaction. The main challenge is to maintain the quality satisfaction all year round.

Their logo represents their commitment to the quality print impression and customer satisfaction. Their logo is derived from a Chinese character, it is pronounced as “ren” and it means “people”. It reflects the management’s philosophy that customers are the most valuable asset of the company and without them, there will be no business.

During the visiting to their office and factory, one of their quality control supervisors briefed us about the machinery they use in their factory. They bought their printing machines from a well-known printing company, Media Comapany called Heilderlberg and Ryobi. For example, they have invested in the latest state of the art Heilderlberg printing machine and an array of printing and binding machineries to help push and position their company and people to be more prepared for the liberalization of the industry. There will be a fierce competition in the printing industry due to the Asean Free Trade Agreement (AFTA). Thus, the need for a higher level of professionalism is definitely Akitiara’s aim in the coming years....
