The Last Battle between Obama and Romney

On Monday, October 22, 2012, the Third Presidential Debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney took place in Boca Raton, Florida. The topic of the night was based on foreign policies.

Governor Mitt Romney was the first to speak on the topic. He spoke on his plan to put a very compressive and robust strategy into place to help the world of Islam and other parts of the world to reject the radical, violet, and extremism.

When it was President Obama’s turn to speak he pointed out how Governor Romney’s strategy have been all over the map and is not designed to keep America safe or to build on the opportunities that exist in the Middle East.

Romney disagreed with Obama’s statement and said that his strategy is straight forward. Explaining how his plan is to go after the “bad guys” and to make sure he does his very best in interrupting them.

Obama then brought up that a few months ago when Romney was asked what is the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, Romney responded by saying Russia is the biggest threat. He then told Governor Romney, “The 1980s are calling asking for their foreign policy back because the cold war has been over for 20 years.”

Obama continued by saying that he sees what is taking place in Syria and how heartbreaking it is to see them in those conditions. He said that he plans to do everything that he can and to make sure that he is helping the opposition. Obama did recognize that to get more entangled in Syria, militarily speaking, would be a big step.

When it was Governor Romney’s turn to speak again he said that he believed that Assad must go and he will go. His plan is to make sure that a friendship is made between the Americans and the Syrians who take the over Assad’s leadership place, so that in the years to come Syria is seen as a friend and a responsible party in the Middle East.
