The BMW 3 series has always been the class leader. It’s the perfect mix of sport and luxury. Ever since the e36, the M3 has always been king of its class and the crown has stayed at BMW for ages. The e4x and e9x generation further proved this point. The 3 series is BMW’s bread and butter and there is absolutely no chance that they will mess it up. The 3 series account for 46% of BMW’s total sales. The 3 series is an icon, one that every enthusiast knows of. BMW has introduced a new version of the popular 3 series, which is internally dubbed, the F30. How does it stack up against previous e9x generation? Well, we’re about to find out. BMW has addressed the major concerns that were had with the e9x generation, overall.

Let’s start with the interior.

The e9x generation’s interior was lackluster at best. It was bland and boring. The point of this was that BMW’s are drivers cars, all the gadgetry and design really shouldn’t matter. Interior quality was very poor, cheap plastics, half thought out cup holder design, and rattles everywhere. The 335i Sport that I had the pleasure of testing had a very lavish interior. There were still hints of cheap plastic here and there but overall, BMW has made significant improvements in this department. The red stitching on the seats and the silver trim running across the dash, wrapping around you really made you feel like the car was something special. You can opt for the aluminum style trim with red accenting instead as well on the Sport line model but that comes down to preference and taste. The quality of the leather is nice and soft. You will see wrinkles in the leather quickly, but that doesn’t take away from how comfortable and better the seats are from the previous generation.
