Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are on the rise among young people. STDs are caused by many different viruses and bacteria that spread through sexual contact. Some examples of STDs are chlamydia, crabs (pubic lice), genital herpes, gonorrhea, hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, and syphilis. Even if you're not sexually active now, it's vital to know how to protect yourself later. It is very dangerous because they are easily spread and it is hard to tell whether a person is infected with STD by just looking him/her.

People nowadays mostly teenagers only see fun and sometimes forget to protect themselves when having sexual intercourses, the results from that mistake are conceiving a child, or catching a sexually transmittable disease and some of them such as herpes and HIV that are not curable and stay on that persons body for life.Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also called venereal diseases are infections that are spread from person to person through sexual contact, including oral sex, anal sex and the sharing of sex toys. Because the germs that cause STDs die quickly outside the human body, these sicknesses are not spread through coughing, sneezing, or contact with infected objects such as toilet seats or eating utensils. Most STDs, however, can be transmitted from an infected pregnant woman to her baby and also can be passed through any contact between the genitals of one person and the genitals, anus, mouth or eyes of another person. STDs are among the most common infectious diseases in the United States. More than 15 million Americans are diagnosed with an STD every year. There are many different STDs, but the most common ones in the United States are herpes (genital herpes), Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV and genital warts. Symptoms vary depending on the type of infection, although some people who become infected with an STD may not develop symptoms at all.
