Cable Television or Satellite Television: A Brief Analysis

As the company strives to deliver the type and quality of services that its clients continue to require, the company’s chemistry laboratories become a vital component in this effort. The products that are a part of the services being supplied to the clients are required to meet various standards of the client, regulatory agencies and other involved stakeholders. The in-house services previously provided by the laboratories may now be marketed as an additional set of services to be offered to outside clients. In order to satisfy these new service offerings, the company’s chemistry laboratories will need to undergo a number of organizational changes with respect to their structure and process if they are to meet the company’s changing analytical demands.

The Present Laboratory Organizational Structure

The present laboratory organizational structure consists of a large central research laboratory and a multitude of satellite or regional, district and local laboratories. The large research facility is located over 1000 miles away and operates during the hours of nine o’clock am to six o’clock pm weekdays Mondays through Fridays. The employees that staff the research facility are required to be degreed Chemists who are knowledgeable in their field. The persons that staff the regional, district and local laboratories do not have to possess that same qualification in fact over ninety percent do not.

Most of the staff members were former field water techs that as lab positions became available were able to transfer into the satellite laboratories. These technicians had been performing sample collection and minor sample testing as was required by the company.
