Amanda Shank’s old boss did not meet Maslow’s basic needs of belongingness. The transcript stated “You know I’ve worked for companies where they flat-out said, you know, “You’re just a number. You can be replaced at any time.” This is a display of not belonging. I believe that this would make any employee feel like they don’t belong

2.Use the Expectancy Theory and/or the Equity Theory of motivation to explain how feeling underpaid might affect the work of a Flight 001 associate and what a manager can do to increase the employee's motivation. (25 points).

Feeling underpaid might affect the work of a Flight 001 associate because the associate feels like they are not receiving the proper output (monetarily) they deserve. This can cause de-motivation and the associate will not be performing to their normal standard. Managers have a multiple ways of compensating individuals without money. One way to re-motivate an associate who feels like they are being underpaid is to increase the moral in the work place. The work environment can make or break an employee’s situation. By changing the work place environment, the manger could possibly be re-motivating multiple associates at one time. Another option for the manager is to look at the work schedule. If possible, and the employee can financially handle it, the manager could cut hours so that the employee feels like they are being paid for their time.

3.Based on Herzberg does Two Factor Theory, what hygiene factors can you identify that are being met within Flight 001's work environment based on comments made by employees in the video?
