Abstract

Kudler Fine Foods is packed with the best upscale specialty domestic and imported foodstuffs. The specialty foods include fresh produce, fresh meat, fresh bakery goods, condiments and packaged foods and the most important aspect fresh cheese and specialty dairy products and wine. With three different locations in La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas, Kudler Fine Foods has invested and manager the computer system properly for business purposes. Kudler Fine Foods excels by offering the highest quality products to its customers in three gourmet retail locations. Whereas each of the three locations is profitable, Kudler needs to an overhaul of the current computer system to be competitive in the gourmet food market. An initial review of the company’s current computer systems, accounting practices and opportunities will be explored on improving Kudler’s accounting system as well. In addition the threats that Kudler will encounter if changes are not made to the current system will be addressed throughout. To assess and recommend an effective computer system, it is necessary to evaluate and make recommendations based on how Kudler’s key business and accounting systems needs, inventory of Kudlers current system, explanation of Kudlers business benefit from the technology upgrade and identifying the strengths and weaknesses with potential technology threats.
