In this contemporary society, single-parenting is common to us. There are many factors for the emergence of lone parenting, such one is the death of one parent either the mother or the father, the other reason with be due to legal separation or divorce where in such case either the mother or the father would raise the child or children in a custodial parent, it depend. Other case would be teenagers had unplanned pregnancy usually woman and choose or rather don’t have an option to enter into marriage for so many causes and reasons. There are also cases in which single parent adoption is an option for adults who want children but do not have or don’t want to have partners in life.

But before we go deeper to its roots, we should first define what is single-parenting. Single parent or solo parent is a parent, not living with a spouse or partner, who has most of the day-to-day responsibilities in raising the child or children. We could say that single parenting is inappropriate for those children who were raised by only one parent, because as to what the important component of the family structure is, centering around whether or not a complete family or the love and affection of the children’s parents is more important (Showdon, 1997) . It would be the child’s loses having an incomplete family.

But somehow, this kind of family has advantages to considered, the single parent get all the decision as possible. Because you are only the one raising a child needs careful decision making and such a big responsibility for the parent. You can play with your child without someone sharing the same thoughts. You will develop more skills and confidence to face the challenges ahead. This will help you cover up and make decisions and solve problems on your own. You have the sole authority over your child.
