Abstract

This paper compares the challenges that a globally focused and international successful company often faces. Everyone who currently uses a personal computer for business, school or entertainment knows the names of the industry giants in the personal computing names, but fail to understand the depth or complexity that was required for these technology companies to master around the world’s social-economical business battleground. New and particular technical needs were created due to the evolution of international business within the information age, as countries matured in economic globalization and formed international trade agreements and unions. It is because of these technical needs in business that we now have a myriad of programs and applications, developed in order to support interaction across international grounds. International success comes with new trials through international governing rules in order for organizations to interact with business suppliers, customers and even internal divisions between the very same companies. This paper moves on to evaluate how two personal computing giants have adapted to the benefits and challenges faced in the global economy- Apple and Microsoft.

As world leaders in personal computing, Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corporation have each taken the world by a storm in multiple ways, and at separate times. From their original legacy personal computing operating systems to today’s ultra portable, multitasking platforms and applications, what have set these two companies above the rest, is their visionary DNA.
