To prepare: • Print out boards so that each student has one. Each color is a different board. • Print out TWO copies of the picture cards (page 4) because some boards have double pictures. • Print out one copy of the HEART letters OR use a large die and put H-E-A-R-T over the numbers. Cut letters and put them in a bag. • If you’d like, so every child can see the pictures, print a large size image of each picture and tape them to the board. • Find place holders—pennies, beads, Cheerios, or candy corn To play: • Give each child a board and a handful of place holders • One person chooses a letter out of the bag (H-E-A-R-T) and then she chooses a picture card. She says, H, puppy. If you have a puppy in the H column, cover it up! • She continues calling letters and pictures until one player yells HEART! when five pictures are covered in a row.
