Esther

Esther has a social position that most of women wanted. As a queen, she did not forget her root as a Jewish. She kept her special characters like faith in God and love to her tribe. She triumphed as a woman in a culture that was dominated by men and created changes that glorified women.

We can understand that during that time, men dominated the politics and decisions. When we look into the scripture “And when the king’s decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.” (Esther 1:20) We can understand that a King, who is a man, make the final decision of the countries, everyone should listen to him. Furthermore, he brought out a new rule of wives should honor the husband, which we can derive that men are more important in social positions during that time. Men were dominating no matter in cultures and politics, women were just a supportive behind men. Queen Esther, a women who married to “a different tribe who still love her root, Jews, which is a slavery tribe during that time as we see wherefore Haman sought to adestroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.” (Esther3:6). We can understand that the Jew was not a popular tribe even the King decided to give an order to destroy them all. We can see Esther love her root as said in the scripture “Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.” We can see that Esther love her tribe, she cares about them she felt sad when her people are in bondage.
