MISI project

For this project, our group has chosen Apple Inc. as the organization which has used e-commerce.

In an information economy, knowledge and core competencies are key organizational assets. Information systems are required to optimize the flow of information and knowledge within the organization. A good information system network built by an organization can help management maximize the firm’s knowledge resources.

In order to facilitate the flow of information and knowledge between companies, or get to know the information of competitors or customers, an organization can link its Local Area organization. Furthermore, it can link itself to its customers, suppliers or to the public through the network facility of the Internet.

Local Area Networks (LANs) connect computers and other information processing devices within a limited physical area, such as an office, classroom or other work site. LANs use a variety of telecommunications media such as ordinary telephone wires or coaxial cables to interconnect microcomputer workstations and computer peripherals.

Wide Area Networks (WANs) are telecommunications networks that cover a large geographical area anywhere in size from a few cities to the whole globe. A WAN uses telephone lines, cables, microwaves or satellites to connect a wide variety of hardware devices in many different locations.
