ARGO

1The conflict arises in the movie Argo is when Iranian militants storm the US embassy in Iran taking 52 hostages without knowing that six have managed to slip away and find help from Canadian ambassador. The six Americans only hope is to wait for rescue but as long as they wait their life is in danger or they might be killed. So a CIA specialist Tony Mendez put up a *plan to rescue them that is so risky and impossible to achieve since it is based from a fictional story. The level of conflict is an intrapersonal conflict which is an avoidance-avoidance conflict since Tony must choose whether to go with the plan or not. If Tony will choose to go with the plan there is a possibility that the plan will fail and that will kill all of them and if Tony decides not to go with the plan the six will possibly track down and will be killed then. 2The source of conflict is a personal conflict because there are factors in the plan of rescuing the six Americans, the six Americans were unskilled in acting and have doubts in the plan, and the six of them have different perception on the plan as well as to Tony Mendez.

Stages of Conflict in the movie:

1. Antecedent conflict- when in Iranians storms the US embassy in Iran and takes hostages.

2. Perceived conflict- when Tony put up a risky and impossible plan.

3. Manifest conflict- when Tony decided to go for it and talked to the six American about the plan but the six of them doubt and they chose first not to agree on the plan.

4. Conflict resolution-when Tony has finally persuaded the six Americans to go on in the plan and do it.

5. Conflict aftermath-when Tony and the six Americans finally slip away from the Iranians and finally managed to get out in Iran safely.
