Individual analyze for Consummate Corporation

Consummate Corporation, as a large manufacturer of consumer products in Atlanta, it required many refills for its manufacturing of products. Therefore, the refill packaging unit was very important for the company because its task was to operate all of the packaging and refills for final shipment and sale though it was considered to be one of the lowest status units in the company. At the earlier time, some issues existed in this department on the basis of structure of the refill packaging unit, such as lack of communication across shifts, bad relationship between production supervisors and the maintenance supervisors and some problems about general cleanliness of machines. However, these issues were solved with satisfaction from an off-site meeting by David Gold, manager of Consummate Corporation's refill packaging unit, he made a number of commitments and workers performed it successfully. But not for long, David Gold was again worrying some severe problems in his unit after he had announced the arrangements for the second off-site meeting because a college student, Paul Rubin who was spending the summer observing this department, told the Gold what he had heard and seen. The problems was described by Rubin about the tension and hostility between the newly hired college graduates and the older experienced supervisors in the unit. In this situation, David had to correctly deal with the unexpected tension among his staff members.

There are several factors that cause the problems in this units. Firstly, because of different personalities and abilities between the groups of college-hires and old-timers in the unit, it will exist with quite distinct work ethic and work attitude. It means the college-hires have more ambitious and aggressive for their future promotion, so they want to ask more questions to old-timers for their jobs; on the contrary, the old-timers know the ropes and more conscientious and careful about...
