The problem of this case is that the revenue generated by the company is not enough to cover the rapid growth cost. Their limited distribution channels and high prices critically affect potential sale opportunities. Also, the narrowed target segments limit them from capturing larger portion of the market and thus leading to poor revenue.

Few alternatives for Invisalign to improve their sales are first, to expanding their market geographically and increase brand awareness. By expanding outside of U.S, potential sale opportunities will grow and more people will be aware of the brand. This is important because one of the major downfalls of Invisalign is that the technology is very new and people are unaware of it or lacking the interest to try it. So by expanding to other geographical areas, more people will be aware of the product and eventually increase the rate of people adapting the product. The cons for this alternative are the expansion can be very costly and the risks are pretty high. For example, other countries might have a different system of doing business or they might not adapt to Invisalign as well. Second, Invisalign can give permission to general-practice dentist to use its product. One major limitation of Invisalign is that only its own orthodontists are allowed to make use of the product. So the product is privately owned and other dentists are unenthusiastic promoting the product. One major advantage for this alternative is that distribution channel are greatly increased and consumers are able to have an easier access of the product. The cons of this alternative are also of its high costs. For example, the money it takes to provide training and support for new dentists to adapt to its products on top of the orthodontists.
