THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
Communication is come from the Latin word “communis”, meaning “common”. To be common means to come together or to commune”---“to share something in common” thus, we view communication as a mean of coming together or a common field of experience which is the idea of “convergence”.
Some people also say that communication is a form of releasing tension or an outlet to one’s pent-up emotions or angst. Reason enough to say that communication has a therapeutic effect. One can thus unburden his/her feelings, emotions, or thoughts through a friendly talk, journal writing, or any creative means of expression or communication.
Communication is an important part of our lives. Communication, is said to be just like love, makes the world go round. Communication enables us to improve our skills at interacting with people. People who are good communicators tend to do better in their careers. We communicate everyday with different people, at different times, in different ways. We communicate with ourselves in our thoughts. We also communicate with our family, friends, teachers, and people we meet .At when time comes we may even need to communicate with a larger audience such as members of the public, investors, or clients.
The ability to speak and write in English is an important tool in College, eventually in our future career especially in business courses. However, many students have difficulties in speaking English. This difficulties maybe caused by weak English background in the basics , Background about the right pronunciations or grammar back in their old schools.
English nowadays is considered as the universal language; for which it is understood by almost all countries around the world. It is used by most people as their second language.
