Brief history

Before the invention of motorcycle, bicycles were in use the motorcycle was evolved from the ‘pearl cycle,’ at first by attaching a small air-cooled petrol engine to a cycle frame.

Motorcycle is a two wheeler or a three wheeler vehicle powered by a fuel engine mounted mid way between the front and rear wheels. A motorcycle as much heavier and stronger frame then a pedal cycle. People in many parts of the world use motorcycle for transportation or recreation or sports. Most of the people use motorcycle for pursuits and control because this vehicle can pass easily through traffic. The motorcyclists using this engine powered vehicles as “BIKES”

The first real motorcycle was invented in the year 1885 by Gottlieb Daimler a German engineer.

He attached a four-stroke piston engine to a wooden bicycle frame. For the next few years. Motorcycle remained largely experimental. During early 1900’s with the continuous improvements. They developed in to success vehicle. But the law enforced the vehicle’s speed to four mil’s per/hour till 1896.

In the mean time France, Germany and Belgium and Syria has taken a substantial lead in Britain. But motorcycles were built in several British factories from 1896 onwards under the license from continental firms whose designs where largely copied.

In 1900 werner peres produced the first practical driven motorcycle.

In 1973 came all chain driven motorcycle and development was further stimulated. In the middle of the 20th century in the Great Britain there were 24 firms manufacturing full motorcycle and after the II world war, German motorcycle producers were barred to on annual production of 1000 units not going about 250 cubic capacity engines.

Most of these vehicles have their engine power transferred to rear wheels either by leather belts or rubber canvas belts or chains. They have no gear mechanism most of these had diamond shaped frames.
