Answer the following questions (use MS Project Help, if necessary):
1. What is the difference between a main summary task and a summary task?
The main summary task will have other summary task under it and a summary task will have the non-summary task under them. For instance NEW System is a main summary and Proposal creation is just a summary.
2. On the View Tab, what does the Outline button with plus and minus signs do?
The outline button determines which outline levels should be used. It can show only outline levels that you wish to see by choosing different levels in the outline
3. What is a milestone?
A Milestone is a point in the project that signifies when a group of tasks are completed and deliverables are due. Also gives the manager a goal to get tasks done by.
4. What predefined report can you not make changes to the header and footer?
The Project Summary Report
5. Give a real-world example of
a) A successor task requiring lead time
You can have lead time on a task when one task can start before the end of the predecessor. For instance when laying concrete you can actually start pouring the concrete once the frames for the first section have been made. Therefore you do not have to wait for all the framing to be done before the pouring of the concrete starts.
b) A successor task requiring lag time
Lag time is when you may need some extra time for a task to complete or want to schedule some down time. For instance when contract signing. You may schedule the signing for one day but give some lag time just in case the person signing the contract needs more time for review.
