True Democracy

Democracy is defined as government by the people or rule of the majority. In a democratic country, the decisions of who will rule the nation is made by a majority vote, and assuming that prosperity is the overall goal, than the ruler elected will prompt the needs of the majority. Typically, a member of the society will rise up and voice his opinions of problems and ways to fix them, and then people vote on the candidate they believe will best represent the needs for the people to be the voice of the people. There are two structures a Democracy can be, Parliamentary System and Presidential System. A Parliamentary System has its power vested in a legislature. The legislature has a centralized power, and chooses a Prime Minister to be the voice of the Government, but he or she does not have the ultimate power. In a Presidential System, like our Government, the power is vested in separate institutions, President, Congress, and Courts, so the power is decentralized and not just ruled by one person or group. They have shaken up the political world and took a stand against Obama and the Democrats, and their attempt to implement socialistic policies, to try to save our great nation from its demise. Just having the ability to take a stand against injustice, so we can make a difference in the quality of our lives is a great testament to Democracy and how we are privileged to be a part of it....
