Low self-esteem can affect just about every aspect of an adolescent’s life. If they feel bad or are unsure of themselves, then they may be unable to participate fully in any activity for fear of failure. Adolescents cannot handle everything perfectly all the time and shouldn’t be expected to. They don’t have to try to face up to what everyone else thinks they should be, but should make sure they are proud of their decisions, actions and more importantly themselves. The Self-Love program is an adolescent education program aimed at building a love for self that in return will encourage stronger interpersonal relationships. The program takes a personal approach to help adolescents ages 13-17 recognize and believe in their inner beauty within a ten-session frame.

The Self-Love program promotes self-esteem, positive thinking and overall excellence.  By addressing issues ranging from drug abuse to body image, participants learn the importance of carrying themselves with dignity, with an emphasis on the importance of self-respect and self-worth. During the sessions, the individuals will have an exciting, thriving, life-altering, yet fun environment to learn in. As stated, the program will have ten sessions that will meet every Wednesday for two hours at the Kingdom Life Ministries Empowerment Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Each session will have a different focus. Below is a listing of each session’s topic.
