Franklin Roosevelt was one of the most iconic presidents in the United States. He used his popularity to get him into office. But when President Roosevelt got into office he was faced with a difficult task at hand, The Great Depression. Roosevelt assembled a team of people to get rid of this problem. They came up with the First New Deal. The first new deal helped restore the economy, Gave the people hope that the depression will be over, Helped reform the United States and get them out of the depression.

The First New Deal helped restore the economy

The whole concept of the First New Deal began in late June of 1932. Roosevelt and his team started working very diligently about ending the great depression. This period of reform began a special congressional session that marked the start of the First Hundred Days. The first hundred days was a plan that President Roosevelt and his team of congressman came up with to try and get rid of the great depression. Roosevelt and his team came up with many combinations of things to see what worked out the best for the country and the economy. Over the next eight years the government experimented with many projects and programs to get the economy back on track and get it back where it’s manageable for people go get their jobs back.

How FDR and his first new deal helped give people give people hope that this depression will soon be over.

The great depression was at its highest but Roosevelt gave them inspiration. On March 4, 1933, at the height of the great depression Franklin Roosevelt gave a speech to the people and he told the people of Washington that “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself”. This statement opened the eyes of people of the United States made them realize that Roosevelt is fully behind the people and he was doing all he can to make this end as fast as it can.
