Creating a Plan for Positive Influence

Developing communication skills and building interpersonal relationships will have a positive effect from the performance of me and other members on my team. I will discuss the divergent behaviors between myself and others team members, then my plans that will increase the motivation, satisfaction and performance of my team; and how to exploit dissimilar behaviors to influence the team positively based on the collaboration with my team members.

In the team, we have four dissimilar behaviors; however, some team members’ behaviors are comparable. After completing self assessments to learn more about my own personality, attitude, values and emotions, I was able to compare my results with others in my team. Whereas, my personality is gracious, others in my team personalities were outgoing, visionary and compassionate. My attitude is optimist and others in my team attitudes are all realist which is the total opposite from an optimist. We all vary different values, my team members values are trust and honesty. On the other hand, I value wealth. There are differences in emotions in my team. One team member and I tend to secrete our emotions, while the other two team members divulge their emotions. The self assessments were valuable with getting to know others on my team, but developing communication skills will generate rapport between me and my team members.

Developing communication skills will help increase motivation, satisfaction and performance of all team members. When communication is consistent when working in teams, projects are easily maintained.
