Faith and Truth

Faith is believing in something when it is beyond the power of reason to believe it is true. How true this quote is. Christians have a better understanding of the importance of faith in their world. There is a great deal of misunderstanding and deception about faith. Many people believe faith involves feelings, but these physical feelings come from our senses and have nothing to do with God. Faith is spiritual. It is a guarantee with confidence, that God exists in the mind of faithful people. Faith is built over time. It does not develop overnight.

Faith I feel is defined by a dedication to duty or a person, or events over time. If you have faith in something you are admitting that you trust something to be true without absolute knowledge. For example I have faith in:

• Knowing my Dad is going to love me no matter what. He will love me even if I am a murderer. He might not like me, but he will always love me.

• Knowing the sun is going to rise in the east and set in the west every day.

• Knowing I will age by one year every year on August 1.

• Knowing I will wake up every day.

• Knowing technology will continue to advance.

• Having faith in justice in that right will prevail.

• Knowing the ocean tide will come in and go back out.

These are things that I do not have absolute knowledge of because I am not necessarily present at all their happenings, but I know it to be so. Based on my own experiences though, and what other people have told me that these things are reasonable expectations and logic applies. Faith is a quality not an emotion. It shows you how to act, how to handle situations and accept outcomes. Faith is thinking everything ‘God’ says is true. Catholic people pray nightly yet have no proof ‘God’ answers them.
