Beauty

When someone says beautiful, do you think of models, nature, family? Everyone interprets the meaning of beauty differently. A photographer will see beauty in what they are taking the picture of. A musician will hear beauty in the composition of the song. Many people see beauty in other people, but everyone is different. I believe that beauty can be expressed in three ways; sound, sight and the act of giving beauty.

When you listen to classical music, what do you hear? Some people may hear the many instruments individually; some people might hear the composition as a whole. The true beauty of it is that all of the instruments came together to make a beautiful piece of music that people want to listen to. When you hear a person singing with an unbelievable singing talent, whose voice can go to any pitch, you would say that person has a beautiful voice, no matter what they lyrics are.

Beauty also can be expressed in sight. All people have a different perspective on different people and different things. For example, most people have a favorite color; from red to blue to yellow to black. If your favorite color is brown, some people might think that color isn’t exciting, but it might remind you of a childhood memory. When there is a model on the cover of a magazine, some people may think that she is not pretty at all, and some people might think she is gorgeous. Many people also think of a beautiful person as flawless skin, soft hair and dressed nicely, but not everyone is perfect and you need to see the people as a whole, not just what they look like on the outside.

The last way that I think beauty can be expressed is in beautiful gestures. Hair can be beautiful, and many people will cut of their hair and give it away to someone who doesn’t have any hair; they are taking something away for someone else’s benefit, which is a beautiful gesture.
