The nomadic societies developed by adjusting to the bionomics condition of their arid lands. Because of the shortage of rain, they were unable to cultivate much of any kind of agriculture. They grew grass were the herds were able to feed from. Their interaction with idle states where through trade. “Nomads traded with sedentary states, sometimes adopted aspects of sedentary cultures and acted as intermediaries between settle worlds” (Sanders, T., Nelson, S., Morillo, S., Ellenberger, E., 2006). Although nomadic people were ruinous at times, they fostered peaceful socialization between people and different societies.

The nomadic society had two social classes. They were the nobles and commoners. “Charismatic leaders won recognition as nobles and thereby acquire the prestige needed to organize clans and tribes to alliances…Commoners could win recognition as nobles by outstanding conduct” (Bentley, J., Ziegler, H., Streets, H. 2008).

Chinggis Khan is recognized as a universal ruler. He was loyal to his tribe and went against the grain of others to strengthen ones position and the capacity to lure other groups into a amicable alliance. By doing so, he was successful in bringing the Mongol tribe to one coalition. The Mongols ran into difficulties governing Persia and China. This is were the decline came into effect. “In Persia excessive spending strained the treasury, and the overexploitation of the peasantry led to reduce revenue” (Bentley, J., Ziegler, H., Streets, H. 2008). Ilkhan tried to remedy his debt by using paper money. Merchants denied this form of payment claiming the paper money had no value. In China, the Mongols still had the use of paper money, however it was ousted due to inadequate reserves. They also encounter an onslaught of the epidemic disease called the bubonic plague. It spread from southwestern China to central Asia and Europe where it became known as the Black Death.
