Intelligent Transportation Systems, also known as ITS, are systems we use in our daily lives to better improve our travel experience in various ways. The main goal of this emerging technology is to make our roads safer, less congested, and enhance our travel overall. Familiar ITS technologies include global positioning systems (GPS), Bluetooth, Satellite radio, and Voice command. Intelligent Transportation Systems is not only found in personal vehicles. This technology can also be found in planes, trains, boats, and just about any mode of transportation you can think of.

All vehicles on the roads will soon be able to communicate with each other. This technology is known as Vehicle to Vehicle, or V2V. Vehicle to Infrastructure, V2I is also an emerging technology. It used to be that this technology was only geared towards monitoring the safety of transportation. In today’s advancing technology we now have the option of using ITS to make our travel a bit more relaxing and luxurious.
