“GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT”

Cornelia’s Struggle A Search for the Truth, illustrates the travesty that unfolds in one woman’s true determination to fight the justice system. For Cornelia it all starts when her husband decides to go to the bank during his lunch break. When John is falsely arrested in the commission of a crime Cornelia has no idea of the severity of her husband’s problem as she learns later at the courthouse, that her husband is accused of armed robbery. Rather than the life they planned together Cornelia is in complete disbelief as now she can only see their lives complicated by the sudden and extraordinary turn of events beyond her control.

Without resources, Cornelia is confronted with bureaucratic obstacles and a lack of money that will plague John’s defense and their ability to navigate the legal and penal system.

Cornelia remains convinced that she and John can weather this terrible obstacle to the life they had planned together, but when John is convicted despite the astonishing lack of evidence, she is barely able to navigate the next few weeks, let alone consider the bleak future that now awaits them.

Reminiscences of the past provide insight into their previous happy life and Cornelia is unwilling to give up on the love of her husband or their dreams. She holds the family together as she clings to the possibility of the immediate future and refuses to abandon hope in the face of the years ahead without John and the adjustment the children will have to make in his absence.

Based on the attitude of the police, John is framed by corrupt police who coerced witness to finger a completely innocent man simply because he wants to put someone away to advance his career. Because of his pride and ego this shady cop stole many years away from a completely innocent man while hiding the truth.
