EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The purpose of this report was to develop an E technology guide to inform organisations and suppliers about the technologies available in the supply chain systems. The report provides and introduction to the technology then informs about the history of the technology and the respective findings which gives an in depth analysis of the technology in view.It then provides a Conslusion and a Recommendation to the mentioned findings.

I. INTRODUCTION

Supply chains involve a company’s entire planning,procurement, production, handling, logistics and distribution processes of not only the products but also defective products and information exchanges and money flows.

The goal of these supply chains is to continously keep the processes running smoothly and to integrate and keep connected the different components of the supply chains ( warehouses,vendors etc).

Today there is a lot of emphasis on cost cutting and streamlining expenses therefore a lot of companies are trying to improve their bottom lines by making their supply chains more effective and efficient by implementing technologies to manage these systems.The biggest benefit that technologies have given to the supply chain systems is allowing the companies to collaborate and have integrated systems.
