Contemporary Problems Week 2 Assignment

The groups that I chose are The Volunteers of America and Big Brothers Big Sisters. These groups help the following populations poor, children, and the homeless. As of today the unmet needs of the homeless is sufficient shelters that can help these people live for at least six months and help with finding a job. There might be a few programs that Human Services is providing this through of course housing and healthcare. Which includes veterans, men and women that have suffered from substance abuse, and also men and women that have been released from prison? This is the largest non-profit organizations that provide to these people with the utmost respect that you need and help and we are here to help you. They give people with mental illnesses a better chance at making a better future for them.

These people that are homeless sometimes did not lose everything because of they were hooked on drugs. They simply could have lost their way in life. They might have been in a tragic accident and had someone they love in an accident. They could have been seriously depressed and just was unclear as to which direction they wanted to go. All of these prevent you from getting or working at your job. There are people that are addicted to drugs and gambling. Those can cause you to lose everything even possibly your life. These certain groups of people need help to get back on their feet and that is what Volunteers of America do they are there to help you out.

These people need serious help by a society that has been trained to help them transition from a homeless to a job. Then they transfer them into a home that runs random drug test, if they fail the test then they need to go back into the rehabilitation center. They have three tries to get it right, if they mess up then they have to go to jail for six months. They will not be allowed back into the program unless they can prove that they are clean.
