On 1451 a boy called Christopher Columbus was born. He grew up to be the first European to visit the Americas, in his journey to find a shorter route to Asia. There were numerous reasons for this, but even more consequences, this essay will talk about what causes and consequences, as well as why they were.

One reason he went on this journey was to find a shorter route to Asia. He wanted to find the route because he wanted to trade with the people of Asia and get many spices, as he was inspired by Marco Polo, who wrote a book called “Books of the Marvels of the World”. It was about his travels around the world, including Asia, when he wrote about how advanced the Chinese were, so Christopher wanted to take their ideas, spices, etc. to sell in Spain for fortune.

As well as wanting fortune, he mainly wanted to spread religion and convert people to Christianity, by proving the Bible’s sayings true, not what the Church said. He knew the scriptures, because he had studied the scriptures for a long time, and when he read the Bible he read from Issiah 40:22 “It is he who sits above the circle of the Earth”. So he decided to show Spain, to spread Christianity.

He deducted the rumors of sea monsters and did research to prove it false, but still he was ignored. So he went out to sea, so others could be proven wrong about sea monster rumors.

As a geographer, Christopher Columbus wished to explore the world and plot it to take fame and glory, as well to be known to the world as the man who proved the world round and found the shortest route to Asia.

By going on this voyage allowed the Spanish Empire to get a temporary jump in resources like gold, stone, wood, etc. Although in long term, this means that those resources are now rarer, which means they cost more, which ultimately means people have to pay more and more until they are broke, as well as the fact that if many people buy them, the shops will increase the prices, soon making everyone, excluding shop...
