This experiment was for me to choose a specific type of technology as well as a specific 12 hour period of time this week to spend without the use of technology. I chose not to use my Iphone cellular device for the course of 12 hours starting at 8 in the A.M and ending at in the P.M. The reason I chose this technological device was because it is literally my life line. I have my email, phone numbers, text, instant messenger, Skype, face book, online web browsing, Google, bank account apps, and last but not least my fantasy football apps. Before conducting this experiment I used every source of communication I have listed here at least 10 times each daily. The reason for the experiment was to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of technology, as well as our reliance on technological innovation.

I was miraculously able to go for the whole 12 hours of hell experiment without my Iphone. I myself was surprised that I could overcome such pain and anxiety of not having my connection with the world ,if you will, at the touch of a button. Once I have gotten passed the first 6 hours I found myself forgetting that I left my iphone at home. Given that 8 of the 12 hours I was at work; keeping my mind occupied for the time being. Those first 6 hours were filled with anticipation and a mid full of racing thoughts of who was trying to get a hold of me and what I was missing out on. I would guess that the competitive side of me emerged and that was the only thing keeping me from using another ones phone or running home at lunch and fetching it.

I found this experiment to be quite difficult to say the least. The reason for saying that is because I was expecting a call from a future employer and it is one of my only communication to my girlfriend who is currently studying abroad in Chile. Also, I was expecting an email from a professor about current assignments and grading. Thus adding to my anxiety of not having be able to check my fantasy football players for the...
