#4 Discuss how slower population growth will affect business in your local community?

In the ever growing communities of today American families are bearing fewer children then they have before in the past, and immigrants are getting a strong foothold in our communities. Not having such big families such as the baby boomers that preceded us directly affects the amount of products that are bought. With households becoming smaller their needs become less will effects business, which has a domino effect smaller living quarters, smaller vehicles, and less bulk consumer items will be purchased. Which will ultimately harm small business who depend on certain demographics of families, for example if population growth slowed too much a community with a target and a small mom and pop shop the target will overshadow the small shop and eventually close them down.

A hierarchy of needs is the process of what a consumer might go through when contemplating a purchase or initial thoughts when looking at or listening to an advertisement. The levels are defined as: Personal needs, social needs, safety needs, or physiological needs. For example a person who needs a new sweater for the winter season and is also obsessed with how people perceive them and buys brand name items such a Gucci might buy the new Gucci sweater for the facts they need to be warm (Safety and Psychological), need to satisfy their status with other people (Social), and they can make themselves feel better on how they look (Personal).
