Management Orientation

B-H paints hire promote employees based on specific regional context when subsiders is located. This approach is used when regional employee are needed for important positions. Staff may move outside their countries but only within the particular geographic region. It also utilizes a wider pool of managers but in a limited way. having started as a small manufacturing operation in Barbados. Still owned and managed locally, it is now a regional paints manufacturer promoting quality objectives built on the five core values of the Harris Group of Companies, inclusive of: High Ethical Standards; Excellent customer service and quality; Development of people and team work; Excellent business efficiency; and the Highest regard for safety, health and the environment. Harris Paints operates five factories in the region 5 different region and employs over 250 staff region-wide. This approach is based on recruiting on a regional basis, as managers are selected based on the best in the region. B-H had a training course was conducted by Dawn Grant of Effective Leadership Management, local affiliate of Leadership Management International, (LMI) sited in Texas, USA. For B-H to become a total leader, one must master 4 critical areas: personal productivity, and personal, motivational and strategic leadership. The course simplifies the process and provides the tools to achieve mastery. The advantage B-H had is that employees get to interact with executives from different countries. Finally the disadvantage B-H had is only limited persons are available and also using this type of policy is that sometimes employees from home or host countries are not selected, instead employees from the third are selected to which they may again face cultural differences.
