Smiling faces and colourful images greet us on the television as we are told over and over again to “go green”. This is the right thing to do, don’t be left out, everyone is doing it save the environment, save the earth and go green! Green is our future; imagine without it what will happen for our future and next generation. The phrase “Going Green” has exploded into popular culture. It is an important environmental issue and yet, not much has been done to save our environment. If you ask people on the street randomly, what they think about recycling, they would probably say: “It is good for the environment”. "Going green" is an earth-friendly approach for living, it is defined as “The social phenomenon describing individuals who use their consumer voice to increase sustainability and decrease their impact on the environment.” This means the choices you make in your day-to-day life are in the best interest of the environment. In simple terms, going green is the movement centered on protecting the environment from pollution and destruction. It is a way of living that encourages reducing resources usage and eliminating unneeded wastes to fight against global warming and environmental issues.

In order to practice going green, we should implementing three Rs concept to solve the problems. The main aim of the three Rs concept is to minimize the amount of wastes and conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy. Firstly, the most effective of the three R's is reducing means using fewer resources at first place. The best way to manage waste is buy less and use less. For example, if all of us bought and use the things as much as we like, there would need to be more space just to hold and sustain everybody. So we should buy only the things that we need and use all of what we bought. Besides that, we can reduce waste by selecting products that are not wasteful in their packaging.
