1. Anatomy is the study of the structure and shape of the body and it's parts; Physiology is the study of how the body parts and its function; anatomy studies the shapes of muscles and physiology studies how they work together to make you smile.
2.Atoms-Oxygen; Cells- skin; tissue- epithelial in skin; organ- stomach; organ system- digestive system; organism- a person.
A whole person is an organism made up of organ systems which are made of organs which are made of tissues which are made of cells which are made of atoms.
3.Integumentary- protects deeper tissue from injury- skin, hair, nails and sweat glands.
Skeletal- protects/supports body organs- bones, tendons, ligaments and cartilages.
Muscular- allows movement- skeletal muscles.
Nervous- control center- brain, spinal cord and nerves.
Endocrine- secretes regulatory hormones- endocrine glands.
Cardiovascular- transports materials in blood- heart, blood vessels.
Lymphatic- responsible for immunity- lymph nodes, thymus and spleen.
Respiratory- gives oxygen to and takes CO2 from the blood- oral cavity, nose, nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, thrachea, bronchial tubes.
Digestive- breaks down food/ absorbs nutrients- mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, large/small intestines.
Urinary- maintains acid/base balance- kidneys, uterus, bladder, urethra, liver, pancreas and gallbladder.
Reproductive- produce offspring- Male: testes, epididymis, vas deferens, prostate, seminal vesicle, bulbourethral glands, urethra, penis and scrotum. Female: ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina, labia and clitoris.
4.Organization; metabolism and excretion; movement and response to stimuli; developement; reproduction; homeostasis.
5. Nutrients; Oxygen; Water; Heat to maintain body temperature; Pressure for breathing and filtering blood.
