Criminal Justice Trends

The criminal justice system as a whole has grown over time. Society would be a complete mess if the United States did not up hold how the criminal justice system was not around. The system has grown as trends in the past have grown into bigger problems country wide.

Present Trends

The wars on illegal drug have grown to an all-time high. The criminal justice system fight in the war on drug everywhere, trying to lower the rates of drug trafficking across the border into the united states, drug cartel are hard to pin point down to a single group, so the American criminal justice system have made a single group of people whose sole job is to find and stop the shipment of drugs country wide and even step up their search on the border. Also another big trend that is becoming more openly discussed is the act of human trafficking though it still is not a big story in the news and many American do not really know how big of a problem it actually is, there is more of a force looking and catching people involved in human trafficking.” The State Department released a report that estimates 27 million people worldwide are victims of slavery, be it sex trafficking, indentured servitude, bonded labor or forced military service”(Fox,2012). There needs to be more education on human trafficking so people learn how to see the sign of someone in this situation, and then more people can be saved out of slavery, and get the help they need. Another trend Americans and the criminal justice system has faced is the war on terrorism, although one big event comes to mind when terrorism is talked about, 9/11 attack, there are many more acts of terrorism going on with citizen of the united states committing them along with foreign countries, we have a terrorism force risking their lives every day to try to pin point the who, what, and, the were the next strike will happen. There are many acts of crimes that our out of the criminal justice system...
