Texas Report

I bet there are a few things you didn’t know about Texas. For example, did you know that Texas has a state dinosaur? It is the brachiosaurus. We also have a state tree; it is the pecan tree and our state plant is the prickly pear cactus. Also our state mammal is the armadillo. See? I told you there were a few things you didn’t know about Texas, but that’s only the tip of the ice berg. So let’s go find some more.

There are quite a few interesting cites in Texas and one of these is San Antonio. San Antonio has several attractions but I only have enough time to talk about two of them today the first I am going to talk about is the Alamo. The Alamo was an old mission that the revolutionists converted into a fort and it played an important role in the Texas revolution. The second attraction that we will talk about is the river walk it is a two and a half mile long mile walk with restaurants, flowers, and shops cluttering the sidewalk. The next city on our list is Austin. Austin is our capital city and is very big. Austin’s slogan is keep Austin weird and the people there do just that. The last city we are going to talk about is Houston. Now this might sound familiar. Have you ever heard the phrase “Houston we have a problem” well that is because the space center is in Houston. This is the only space center in the United States of America. Also Houston has a very big medical center called the Texas medical center.

Texas has many industries such as farming, oil, and space exploration. Texas has many farms; one of these is the King Ranch which is bigger than the state of Rhode Island. While in the stereotypical mental images of Texas many people picture cowboys riding their horses on dirt roads, the King Ranch is much more developed and has not only horses, but also sheep and goats, and, most famously,...
