Unemployment is a condition where one is willing to work but he does not have a job. In the recent years the rate of unemployment has been on the rise in many societies. This rate is very worrying because there are many implications that come with high levels of unemployment in the society. There are a number of factors that are said to be the cause of unemployment in any given economy. The factors that cause unemployment in any given economy can be categorized as economic, social and political factors. Unless the problem of unemployment is adequately addressed in any given economy there are some far negative reaching implications that affect the social, economic and political development of the economy in question.

Detroit residences are faced with the problem of unemployment. The Detroit community has high number of unemployed people who are willing to get a paying job but they cannot secure one. Unemployment among the residence has some negative implications whereby due to lack of a source of livelihood the levels of hunger among the Detroit residence is very high as well as the rate of crime has been on the rise in the recent years and is been attributed to high unemployment levels been recorded in this community. Therefore, there is urgent need for the government to come up with measures that are aimed at tackling unemployment among the Detroit residence.

Therefore, this essay will be concerned with indentifying the various causes of unemployment among the residences of Detroit. The essay will also be concerned with looking at the impact of unemployment among the residents of Detroit and the measures that the government can put in place in order to address the issue of unemployment among the residents.
