McDonald's is one of the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 30,000 local restaurants serving 52 million people in more than 100 countries each day. McDonald’s corporate office is located at 2111 McDonald's Dr., Oak Brook, IL 60523. McDonald’s was founded in 1940 and started franchising in 1955. McDonald’s offers some of the world’s most famous fast foods like Famous French Fries, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets and Egg McMuffin.

The first McDonald’s was built in 1940 by Mac and Dick McDonald in San Bernardino, California. In 1965, McDonald's Corporation went public. In 1966, McDonald's was listed on the New York stock exchange on the May 7th. In 1967, the first restaurants outside of the USA opened in Canada and Puerto Rico.

McDonald’s menu offers breakfast and lunch items. McDonalds is one of the most competitive fast food franchise because they offer their food at affordable prices. Not only do they sell fast foods, they also offer healthy choices such as, salads, parfaits, and fruit. McDonald’s sales many fast foods such as, Big Macs, ·Big N' Tasty, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets, McChicken, Filet-O-Fish, Happy Meal, McGriddles, and McMuffin.

McDonald’s sells it products internationally. They have operations all over the U.S. and other countries. As of December 31, 2011, of the 33,510 restaurants in 119 countries 27,075 were franchised or licensed (including 19,527 franchised to conventional franchisees, 3,929 licensed to developmental licensees and 3,619 licensed to foreign affiliates (affiliates)-primarily Japan) and 6,435 were operated by the company.
