Issue of Social Development in Adulthood Research

The article I chose to research was a study of psychosocial development which compared with the Erikson’s psychosocial theory with a 34-year study. This article is “Psychosocial Development From College Through Midlife: A 34-Year Sequential Study” By: Susan Krauss Whitbourne. This article was of interest for me because of the relationship with the Erikson’s psychosocial theory and our academic study during the previous weeks. This article gave a good reference to how the Erikson’s theory could be used to research and study the issues of social developmental research. This article would be good for a research paper based on its credibility as a resource and the relevance which is has with our study in our class. This article gives a 34-year account in which the study followed the participants throughout their lives and their development during this time. The article also follows up with facts and figures in a chart format to back up the relevant findings which the study did disclose. This article could be used for a research paper because it has a wide variety of issues dealt with from college through midlife periods of adults. These facts are supported with articles and good references that are credible also. The article itself is a study that is not bias and does not have exclusions that would rule out the validity of the source. The authors of this article come from the psychology departments of many different universities coming together to research these issues and the relationship with the Erikson’s psychosocial theory. It is describe in steps as the study progresses through the lives of the participants. This article lists different references, explains how it was studied, gives detailed information regarding the study, explains the procedure and then explains the results. Good...
