Favorite Place

April 1, 2013

There Is many place that I would consider to be my favorite place in this world such as the many places I have traveled, my home, my secret “daddy: room. These places are not my all-time favorite. People may say that I am weird for saying this is my favorite place but if I had never went to this place I would not know where I would be today. Yes, this place and the events that went on at this place changed my life. You want to know where this place is? It is the community college I attended, well pretended to go to.

Alabama Southern Community College is the place and the year was 2005. I met my wife, my soul mate, my best friend, the mother of my kids. I graduated in 2003 and attended the community college in the next town over and I played and rarely attended classes, so by 2005 I had flunked out of class and was just there to be with my friends. That year my future wife graduated and started attending that college. She was a work study student so when she took lunch breaks I was out there and I saw her. She asked me to go get her friend and her a drink and I ask her do she want a diet. She called me everything but a child of God. Later I can back and apologized. I didn’t see her again and weeks later I got a call from my best friend and her.

She wanted me. I was ecstatic. Eight years and two and half kids later we are still happily together and four years into our marriage. I say two and half kids because when we met she already had a child. I have been in his life since he was one and have been the only father who cares. So he is my child not by blood but by bond. So yes Alabama Southern might not have given me a degree but it has given me the life and my kids. If I hadn’t never met my wife this want to be thug would probably be dead, on drugs, or in hell. Now I am a father, a loving husband, a working man, student, and a man with a dream for my kids future.
