TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

Is there a God? It is the age old question that has been pondered and debated since the beginning of time. Greek philosophers, Plotinus, Aquinas and Augustine all had particular viewpoints when it came to the question of the existence of God, but all believed in a higher power, a supernatural being or force that was responsible for all existence in the universe. (Cosgove, 2006) Although there are probably a million different people who would stand in agreement with these Greek philosophers, there are still those, like the Atheist who question and doubt the existence of an omnipotent creator. These are the unbeliever to which I direct my position, my clear unadulterated point of view. I can state some proofs or clues that may cause the unbeliever to wonder, but nothing is more daunting than real life experiences, the actual miracles. I will clearly state my belief, explain why I have adapted that belief, and I will share some of my own personal experiences. I hope to sway the opposition.

First and foremost, I absolutely believe in the existence of a divine creator, one who placed the stars in the sky and the planets into orbit. A God, who stood out into the vast darkness and spoke the world into existence, a God, who created all life and fashioned human beings in his own image. He is the one who parted the Red Sea. He is the author of the Ten Commandments, the architect of Noah’s ark, the one who sent his son to die on Calvary, and the subject of Biblical stories and recanting. I believe in a God and Lord who wants a personal relationship with the beings he has created and will go to extraordinary measures to provide for them, to sustain them, engage them and to love them. I acknowledge this to be truth and I believe it, and here are the reasons why.
