I. INTRODUCTION:

The topics that I have chosen to discuss in my paper have to do with what I believe to be the fundamentals of being a Christian; Love and Wisdom. The reason I decided to write about the two topics is that I now have a better understanding of what it means to love as God loved us and to make better decisions with the help of wisdom. Towards the beginning of the course my knowledge of the two topics was not at its highest as it is now. By reading the textbooks and excerpts I have seen how love and wisdom move inside of us to create a better being that God wants us to be. To demonstrate I will start off with love.

II. LOVE:

When it comes to defining love there are endless ways that a person can identify the term. The classic definition would be “an intense feeling of affection” however; some confuse love with infatuation or lust which is merely a temporary feeling of strong emotions towards a particular person or thing. However, when we look at love through a theological stand point the Bible has numerous ways that one can define the term. One particular verse would be; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, ESV). That verse tells us of the unfailing love that God has for His children, that He gave us Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so that we should have the opportunity to be reborn again. This type of love is nothing of the temporary kind but of a permanent everlasting love.

For God to surrender His son for us is a true meaning of love on His behalf. There are different alternatives that God could have taken in order to keep His son but His love for us overpowered that, and He knew that He did not want to see any more of His children parish into lifestyles of the damned.
