Determining your Prefect Position
Every person has strengths and weaknesses as a leader and these traits can be best suited in an organization that will build their weaknesses and utilize their strengths. It is important that the right leader is in the right position, in order for them to be effective. Based on several leadership assessments, I was able to determine what type of position in my organization would be a perfect fit for my leadership style, strengths and weaknesses. These assessments were done through the Pearson Self-Assessment Library, online. I then utilized my personal results and determined what type of position; I would be most successful in as a leader.
Leadership Style Strengths and Weaknesses
Leadership Strengths
Based on the assessments my leadership style has many strengths based on the organization that I would belong to. If in the wrong position, my strengths could be seen as weaknesses. I am focused primarily on being people oriented, but have a nice balance of being task oriented and this is favorable in a leader. I am not all about the bottom line and that flexibility will provide team members with a sense of approachability. People tend to trust me and I tend to trust them as well and this is essential in building a strong team. My overall style would suggest that I am a people oriented leader who can get the tasks completed in a fair and consistent manner, but when needed, I can provide proper disciplinary actions.
Leadership Weaknesses
Weaknesses in my leadership could mirror my strengths, if not directed properly. I am a very emotionally driven person and those emotions may lead to becoming unfocused on tasks and more focused on people, if not handled well.
