-What are universities doing to increase their competitiveness?

Universities create worldwide competitiveness and researches show that many universities try to increase their university situations to be chosen by students. Criteria for being chosen creates competitive between universities. Especially, in Turkey foundation universities try to pass front of the public universities. This competitiveness includes many criteria such as students expect those academic personnel’s achievements, language education, second language, and universities’ social situations, dormitory. Other important point for universities competitiveness is foreign academic personnel. According to THES-QS‘s ranking for universities, scientific research of instructors number, quality of foreign instructors also quality of education and instruction. Universities provide a gateway to university studies through the School of Extended Learning for students whose potential is clear but whose academic background needs reinforcement. Universities try to increase their number of foreign instructors and equality of worldwide situation criteria for students’ life of after university. Guiding to students from admission to graduation and beyond, through a successful transition to advanced study or a career is also fundamental. As an example, research on reasons of choosing İstanbul university includes 45,5% quality of instruction personnel, 25,1% scientific achievements, 15,9% history of university, 11,2 % opportunity of dormitory and scholarship and remaining sports and social environments. Universities also enhance their campus environment with students’ expectations. After university life takes big place for students’ choice and universities try to increase their education quality for creating successful future life.
