Outline and Thesis Statement Guide
What is your thesis statement? When deciding on homeschooling or a public school you want to consider environment, how it can change a child’s character and how a child can grasp the subjects and teachings.
I. When it comes to educating the youth, there are many things that can be over looked or dismissed when it comes to homeschooling.
II. The environment.
a. Where does the child learn
i. public school building with text books and children of the same age.
ii. Home schooled children are taught through many different places with real books, experiences, co-ops and more.
b. They both have chances to be social.
i. Classrooms
ii. extracurricular activities.
III. Grasping Subjects and Teachings.
a. Time
i. public schooling 6 hours minimum.
ii. Home schooling 1-4 hours typically a day
b. curriculum
i. one size fits all at public school.
ii. A curriculum based on individual needs.
IV. How it can change a childs character.
a. Being different.
i. Media and the classroom
ii. your classroom being the world.
b. Parent involvment
i. “day care” for 6 hours.
ii. parent is the teacher
V. Time.
a. Education.
i. Public schools are on set schedules and time frames to get a diploma
ii. home schoolers can learn at at their own pace and can finish earlier.
b. Other activities.
i. Public schools have times when they get out of school leaving only a few hours for extra curricular activites and certain school breaks.
ii. Home schooling is scheduled with life as it happens.
VI. In conclusion there are many things that can be overlooked and dismissed when it comes to homeschooling...
